Our Team

Seán Cotter
Sean started in the retail industry in 1989 as a Trainee Manager in the newly opened Tramore L&N. At the time this was the most technically advanced Supermarket in the country being the first to have all its products computer scanning. Sean moved through the L&N chain spending time in Youghal, Wexford, Waterford and Dungarvan where he reached the level of Assistant Manager. 1999 saw Sean at Riordan’s SuperValu and in 2002 when Jim Cotter retired Sean moved into the role of Store Manager. Sean has brought new energy and ideas to the position and has been an integral part in helping the store achieve its standing of today.

Tony Fox
Tony started with the SV Group as a Trainee Manager in 1996 spending time in Dungarvan then moving to Centra in Fermoy. In 1999 he moved back to the SV in Dungarvan which had by then been taken over by Garveys. Tony had worked with Sean Cotter and when the Trainee Manager position opened up in Riordans Sean asked Tony to join the team. Sean and Tony had always worked well together and when Sean moved up to Manager, Tony deservedly progressed to Assistant Manager in 2002. Tony continues to be a very talented assistant to Sean and plays a major part in the day to day running and continual success of the Riordans SuperValu of today.

Vicky O’Donovan - Fresh Food Manager
Vicky started in the Retail Industry in 2002. Her diligence and dedication to excellence saw her advance rapidly through the ranks to achieve the senior position of Deli Manager. In 2007, due to the ever-increasing demand for quality fresh food the new position of Fresh Food Manager was devised and Vicky joined the team.

Kay O’Regan -
Hygiene, Health & Safety Manager

Kay O’Regan joined the Riordan’s SuperValu team in 1999. Having spent many years in Hotel & Catering Management, another customer focused industry, Kay brought with her vast knowledge and experience in Hygiene, Health & Safety, Personnel Management and Staff Training.
On her arrival at Riordans Kay introduced the Hygiene Systems used today, which have played an integral part in achieving our current Hygiene Standards and Supreme Hygiene Award.
Kay is a qualified trainer in both Manual Handing and Food Safety and closely involved in coordinating the continual efforts to improve the general standards through out the store, a strong and valued member of the team.

Trudy O'Regan - Deli Manager
Trudy O'Regan started working with food in O’Callaghan’s Restaurant Mitchelstown where she also learned management skills as she doubled as Assistant Manager. In 1998 Trudy was employed as Deli Manager by Riordans. Trudy was very innovate and almost doubled the variety of products sold at the deli. The standard in presentation, production, hygiene & customer service achieved new heights. In October 2001 Trudy felt she had achieved all she could at Riordans and left us for a while to join O’Sullivans Centra in Kildorrery where she started a deli counter from scratch. Having achieved great success in Kildorrery, Trudy returned to Riordans in January 2003 where she is again placing her unique stamp on our Deli Department.

Alan Dunleavy - Butcher
Alan has been working as a butcher since 1991 and became a member of our team in 2004. Alan brings flair to our Fresh Meat Counter and offers an excellent service to all our customers. A valued member of the team.

Michael Louis - Cellar & Off Licence
Michael joined the company in 1984 and worked in what would have been considered a small Off Licence Department. Over the years both the department and Michael have grown. Michael has achieved numerous certifications in Wine Appreciation and would be considered an expert in his area. He has been instrumental in the continual progression of our now high-class Cellar and Off Licence Department as proven by the many awards achieved, the latest being Runner Up in the 2007 Off Licence of the Year. If you require assistance with your wine selection, Michael will not steer you wrong.

Donald Cahill - Fruit & Veg
Donald commenced employment with us in 1998 and progressed to managing our Fruit & Veg. Department in 2002. This department was more than doubled in size during the 2005/2006 extension and Donald now controls one of the most colourful, top-class Fruit & Veg Departments in the area.
