A customer questionnaire was completed in store getting your, the customers view points on all areas of Service, Quality and Availability to assist us in ensuring that we match all your expectations and give us direction in improving any areas where there may be shortfalls. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who took the time to complete the questionnaire. The completed questionnaire summary is below.

Dear Customers,

We would like to take this opportunity to thank those of you who took the time to complete our Customer Questionnaire.
The results have now been calculated and the store received a Customer Satisfaction rating of 97%, Our Best Result to Date.
All your comments have been noted and all efforts will be made to satisfy all requests.

Fruit & Veg: Fruit & Veg got its best review since we started back in 2008 but there are still some improvements to be made. We have to work harder to ensure that we get the stocking levels right at the weekend so that there won’t be out of stock issues. Some requests were made in regard to stocking particular items, which unfortunately may not always be feasible as the demand may not be sufficient for us to stock them. But if you require something that is not on display, please speak to Donald Cahill in our Fruit & Veg Department and he may be able to get it for you.

Meat Counter: Both product and service have improved in your estimation though there were a few isolated comments in regard to
staffing levels not being adequate on occasion.  Customer Service is very important to us and our aim is to ensure that there is always adequate staff to serve every customer without delay. However due to ever rising costs we also have to maintain realistic staffing level while still trying to achieve customer satisfaction. The area will be monitored, any shortfalls in staffing levels noted every attempt will be made to rectify.

Prepared by Butcher Products: Every-one that commented was very happy with this product selection. We hope you continue to try our new selections.

Hot Counter: The main comment in this area continues to be centred on what is felt to be the less than stellar service in the
Deli: department in general.  In regard to prompt service, staff members in this area always have tasks to complete for the benefit of the customer, whether that be preparing product for sale or cleaning to maintain hygiene standards but all staff members are made aware, through training, retraining and positive reinforcement that, Customer Service is the priority. The Deli Staff know to stop what they are doing when they are aware of a customer arriving at the counter, unfortunately when engrossed in what they are doing they do not always immediately spot a waiting customer causing a delay in service. They must not forget that attention must always be focused on the counter and our customers, regardless of what else they are doing. This has been reiterated following the completion of the questionnaire.
The second main concern was with the quality of some of the Hot Food Products, in particular food being kept too long on display and getting dried out. This is being addressed by introducing a time-tabled layout, that is breakfast items displayed until 11am and removed if not sold, lunch items displayed until 2pm etc. The staff have also been instructed to put themselves in the customers place and if they wouldn’t buy it or eat it themselves then remove it from sale. The area will be monitored on an on-going basis by management in an effort to improve.

Bread & Cakes: Overall customers seemed to be happy with our bakery.

Frozen / Dairy Chill: The main comment in regard to these departments was for more variety and bigger selections of products.
Unfortunately we only have a finite amount of space and have to stock the products in highest demand, while trying to
offer as wide a variety as possible. Having said that if there is a particular product that you require please let us know and we will attempt to stock it for you.

Checkout: Some of our customers seem to feel that the service in this area tends to be too slow.  Unfortunately some of the delay
is caused by items in place to benefit the customer, such as recording Real Reward Loyalty Points, inputting Vouchers,
the use of Credit Cards etc. In order to improve and speed up the service we keep note of our usual peak
times and staff accordingly – regretfully there are times when it gets unusually busy and delays occur.
When faced with an unexpected busy period we do our best to alleviate the situation by getting our floor staff
to pack at the checkout.  We continue to closely monitor the area.
Our aim is to provide you with outstanding service, if you require help to pack your groceries or assistance to your car please ask.

Real Rewards: In general everyone seems pleased with the Real Rewards Loyalty (Money Back) Scheme. The few negative comments received were that some thought that the spend requirement of the Money Off Vouchers is too high and the valid dates are too short. This is a National SuperValu Loyalty Scheme and we can do little to affect the actual running of the scheme but all comments, both negative and positive are passed on.  Presently the complete voucher scheme is being reviewed and may change in the future. As it stands the values are based on a customer’s average weekly spend and then slightly increased – the “Money Off” is a thanks for your loyalty but the scheme is also a marketing tool geared towards maintaining  customer base and increasing customer spend. In regard to the dating, each voucher has to be spent / used as a unit, usually against a weekly shop, they are posted prior to the commencement week and you should receive them by start date of the first voucher at the latest allowing you a full week to use each voucher. If you don’t receive vouchers or get them very late in the first week, please let us know so that we can look into the matter for you.

Products: In regard to the products that you requested us to stock: All will be investigated and
if they are available and it is feasible  to stock them then we’ll certainly give them a try.
